How do I connect to Wi-Fi?

1. Open the Network Settings

  • Click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar at the bottom-right corner of the screen. It looks like a small signal wave.
    • If you don’t see it, click the upward arrow (^) to expand hidden icons.
  • Alternatively, open Settings by pressing Windows + I, then navigate to Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.

2. View Available Networks

  • In the Wi-Fi menu, you’ll see a list of available networks.

3. Select Your Wi-Fi Network

  • Click the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to.
  • Check the box Connect automatically if you want your PC to connect to this network in the future.

4. Enter the Password

  • If the network is secured, a password prompt will appear.
  • Type the password and click Next.

5. Verify Connection

  • Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar will show a filled signal.
  • You can hover over the icon to see the network name and status.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Incorrect Password: Double-check the password and ensure you entered it correctly.
  • Network Not Showing:
    • Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled (check the switch in the Wi-Fi settings).
    • Restart your PC and router.
  • Driver Issues: Update your network drivers via Device Manager:
    1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and choose Update driver.
